School Sections

Age 2- 3+ years (Nursery)

We use the 2008 Early Years and Foundation Stage Document to design the program me and assessment for the children in this age group. The day has structured lessons in English, maths, art, music/singing and creative play. Pre-school is designed to stimulate your child through organised activities, providing opportunities to explore and learn. The activities have been carefully chosen to encourage your child to want to investigate and explore, developing physical, sensory, visual and intellectual development including language acquisition and literacy skills. There is a wonderful cosy corner for reading stories where the children are read stories and look through stories with their teacher.
If you choose to place your child in pre-school, they will be allocated an individual Key Person who will spend more time getting to know you and your child’s individual needs. The Key Person will have responsibility to discuss your child’s individual needs and you will receive a verbal handover of how your child has been during their day.

Age 4-5+ years old (Class 1)

Our programme is based on the 2008 Early Years and Foundation Stage Document supported by targets from the English National Curriculum with adaptations incorporated for the multicultural mix of children who attend. Our School environment encourages a desire to learn with many extra exciting activities such as football, cooking, ballet, yoga and swimming. The Literacy and Numeracy hour are incorporated into the daily programme, as well as Geography, History and Science. Your child’s progress will be continually assessed and evaluated throughout the year, with our teachers providing regular verbal feedback on your child’s daily progress. At the end of each school year a written report is completed on each child, informing you as a parent how your child has developed and progressed over the year, within each topic.

6-8+ years old, (Class 2)

During Key Stage 1, your child will be ready to move on to more challenging areas of work. By following our programme which is adapted to suit the needs of a multicultural mix of students and developing units towards the host country, each individual child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. There are many opportunities to encourage a desire to learn, not just with the structured lessons. The children cover topics in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, ICT, Art, Geography, History, PSHCE and PE.

9-11 years old (Class 3)

Class 2 will have prepared your child for the next stage of the National Curriculum. The pupils follow the relevant programmes of study from the National Curriculum. At the end of the key stage (11 years old) the children participate in SAT assessments which gives children a level against the National Curriculum document. Given our small class sizes, we expect the children to gain higher levels of attainment during these assessments compared the expectations in England.

All classes have lessons in the following areas:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Design and Technology
  • History
  • Geography
  • Art and design
  • Music
  • Physical Education
  • Foreign Language-Thai
The children study in-depth projects relating to life experiences and will be able to openly discuss these topics in class. Throughout the year the children are continually assessed and feedback is given verbally to parents. At the end of each school term a written report is completed on your child’s overall progress, for each subject your child has undertaken.
